Jan Collie

Jan Collie is a journalist and author with more than fifteen years experience as a professional writer. A specialist in Information Technology, she also acts as a media consultant to the business sector.

A successful Fleet Street freelance, Jan has spent a career covering a broad spectrum of news and features for all the major national daily and Sunday newspapers as well as national magazines. Her articles have covered a large variety of subjects, ranging from computer and space technology for the Times, Sunday Times and Daily Telegraph through to serious crime and flippant features for the tabloids. Her fictional novels have been published by Chapman's and Heinemann's.

Communications, computing and the business applications of the Internet are now the main focus of Jan's attention. The author and webmaster of the free information service, Hidden London, she is currently publishing the book of the site.

Well known in UK press circles, Jan has also worked extensively abroad. She speaks French, German and Mandarin Chinese, a language which she read at London University's School of Oriental and African Studies.
